Athletic Position/Target

The second baseman sprints to a position prior to the base waiting for a throw from the fielder. She's in an athletic position with her legs flexed. She gives a target to the fielder.

Plant

The second baseman plants her right leg as she comes across the base with the weight staying on the inside of her right foot. Her left foot starts to come off the base. She starts to transfer the ball to her throwing hand while maintaing an athletic balanced position.

Timing/Footwork

The second baseman times her forward momentum as she begins to come across the base. She's in an athletic position as she times coming across the base and receiving the ball at the same time.

Separation/Geting Aligned

The second baseman plants her right leg as she comes across the base with the weight staying on the inside of her right foot. Her left foot is about to plant and align for a throw to first base. She separates the ball from the glove while maintaing an athletic balanced position.

Receiving The Ball

The second baseman crosses the base with her left foot and her leg flexed for proper balance. She positions her glove to catch the ball and her throwing hand is close for a quick transition.

Throwing Position

The second baseman plants her right leg with the weight staying on the inside of her right foot. Her left foot plants in a postion clearing her from the base path and aligning her throw to first base. The glove is to the ear and the ball is separated. She is in a balanced athletic position with her left shoulder facing the target.
