DROP STEP

Pivot

The fielder is in an athlectic position and pivots her left foot to move laterally to her left. She is about to cross over with her right foot as her hips and shoulders square with the angle she will take.

Drop Step/Rotation

The fielder remains in an athlectic position as she continues her drop step with her right foot.  Her legs remain flexed as her body starts to rotates in to throwing position. Her glove rotates to her back shoulder as her body rotates and she grips the ball to transfer. Her eyes are on the target.

Fielding

The fielder is in an low athlectic position planting her right foot and then left foot.  Her legs are flexed and bottom is down as the weight transfers to the balls of her feet. Her left arm is flexed and her glove is out in front with the pocket open to the ball. Her right hand is postioned over the top of the glove. Her hips and shoulders are square with the ball.

Drop Step Plant

The fielder remains in an athlectic position as she completes her drop step with her right foot.  Her legs remain flexed and her base is solid as her right foot plants and her left foot begins to stride towards the target. Her left hip and left shoulder are now pointing to the target. Her glove is pulled to her ear as she starts to separate the ball from her glove . Her eyes are on the target.

Drop Step

The fielder is in an athlectic position as she begins her drop step with her right foot. Her legs remain flexed as her body starts to rotate in to a throwing position. Her glove is pulled to her chest as she secures the ball. Her eyes are on the target.

Throwing Position

The fielder remains in an athlectic position as she strides toward her target. Her legs remain flexed and balanced. Her base is solid as her right foot is planted and her left foot starts to plant. Her left hip and left shoulder are now pointing to the target. Her left elbow starts to pull down to rotate her top half. The ball is separated from her glove and in a proper throwing position. Her eyes are on the target.
