FRAMING

Framing inside to a right handed hitter.

The catcher sets up in an atheltic position and positions her glove just outside the ball as the pitch is off the plate. The catching arm is slighlty flexed with the glove out front. This gives the umpire a great view of the pitch location.

Framing/Top of Zone

Framing a top of the zone pitch.

The catcher sets up in an atheltic position and positions her glove just above the ball as the pitch is out of the strike zone. The catching arm is slighlty flexed with the glove out front. This gives the umpire a great view of the pitch location. 

Framing/Bottom of Zone

Framing a bottom of the zone pitch.

The catcher sets up in an atheltic position and positions her glove just below the ball as the pitch is out of the strike zone. The catching arm is slighlty flexed with the glove out front. This gives the umpire a great view of the pitch location. 

The catcher receives the ball with a slight momentum coming in towards the plate. The glove is rotated so her thumb finishes in the up position and palm facing the plate. This will bring the ball to the corner of the plate from a ball that's just off the plate.

The catcher receives the ball with a slight momentum coming in towards the plate. The glove is rotated so her thumb finishes in the down position and palm facing the plate. This will bring the ball to the corner of the plate from a ball that's just off the plate.

The catcher receives the ball with a slight momentum coming down in the zone. The glove is rotated so her palm is down and parralel to the plate. This will bring the ball down to the top of the strike zone.

Framing/Top of Zone

Framing/Bottom of Zone

The catcher receives the ball with a slight momentum coming up in the zone. The glove is rotated so her palm is up and facing the pitcher. This will bring the ball up to the bottom of the strike zone.
