Athletic Starting Position

The player sets up in an athletic position. The legs are flexed and the front shoulder is pointing to a target which is an appropriate distance away. The pitching arm is positioned above the head just outside the back shoulder. The pitching arm is slightly flexed. With ball in hand, the fingertips are on top and thumb underneath. The palm is facing the outfield. The glove is pointed directly to the target with the arm fully extended.

Circular Rotation

The player remains in an athletic position. The legs are flexed remaining stationary and the front shoulder is pointing to a target which is an appropriate distance away. The pitching arm continues to rotate in a circular motion just outside the back hip.  The pitching arm is slightly flexed with the fingertips directly behind the ball and the thumb in front. The glove pulls down towards the front leg. 

Wrist Snap

The player remains in an athletic position. The legs are flexed remaining stationary and the front shoulder starts rotating. The pitching arm continues to rotate in a circular motion as the player snaps the wrist and ball towards the target.  The pitching arm is extended towards the target with the fingertips up. The glove pulls down by the front leg.

Finish

The player finishes in an athletic position. The legs are flexed remaining stationary and the front shoulder completes its rotation. The pitching arm completes the circular motion rotation after snapping the wrist. The wrist finishes high in alignment with the pitching shoulder and the glove finishes down in front of the front leg.
