Warm Up

The team will form two lines and take a short slow jog

Team Stretch:

  • Arm Stretches

    • R&L arm across the body, R&L arm behind the head

  • Leg Stretches

    • R&L standing quad (standing on one leg, while you are holding the other leg with your hand at the ankle), R&L side lunges, Toe touch (both feet on the ground, reach for your toes), R&L calf stretch (standing up with one leg straight and the other leg standing on your heel with toes up, reach for your toes)

Dynamic Warm-Up

The team is lined up at the foul line in the outfield grass

  • High knees through second base and back

  • Butt kickers through second base and back

  • Karaoke through second base and back facing infield both ways 

Defense

Dailies

  • Forehands and backhands

  • Front short hops

Infield

  • Middle fielders are lined up at middle infield depth and corners and pitchers are 

  • Coach will hit balls to all positions

Outfield

  • Coach will hit  (pop-fly, line drive or ground ball).

Offense

Pitchers and Catchers must get through the stations first. The rest of the team should be split into groups.

Stations:

  • Tee Work

    • Have the players hit into a net.

    • The players should be hitting the ball in three different positions: inside, down the middle and outside.

    • If the coach has any other warm up they’d like the players to do (just contact with the ball, extension, etc.) do those as well

  • Bunting

    • A coach is front tossing the ball to the batter.

    • The batters main goal is to bunt the ball with mechanics taught in the practice plans

  • Front Toss

  • There must be a group of shaggers.

  • During this station, the batter should focus on line drives or ground balls. No pop flys.

Defense

  • Dailies

  • Quick forehand and backhand one hop

  • Front one hops

  • Glove tosses

  • Sun balls

  • Infield

  • Middle fielders are lined up by second base, corners and pitchers are lined up in between second and the foul line

  • Coach will hit balls to all positions

  • Outfield

  • Coach will mix up how the balls are hit (pop-fly, line drive or ground ball).
