THROUGH THE BALL

Athletic Starting Position

The player is in an athletic stance. The weight is on the balls of the feet which are a little wider than shoulder width. The legs are flexed. Both hands are finger tip up giving a target. The eyes are on their throwing partner.

Cross Over

The player continues working through the catch by carrying her momentum forward as she crosses over with her throwing hand foot. As she prepares to plant, her top half continues to rotate in to a throwing position. With the glove positioned towards the back shoulder, she starts to transfer the ball out of the glove as her eyes remain on the target. 

Lead Foot/Catch

The player steps forward with her glove foot as she receives the ball fingertips up and throwing hand to the side. The ball is received at the center of her body by using her feet appropriately. Her body stays square to the ball in an athletic position with her legs flexed.

Plant/Transfer

The players momentum continues through the ball as she plants her throwing hand foot. Her glove foot strides toward the target. She transfers the ball past her ear and outside her back shoulder. She remains in an athletic balanced position as her eyes remain on the target.

Through The Catch

The player works through the catch by carrying her momentum forward to her target. Her throwing hand foot starts forward as her top half starts to rotate in to a throwing position. Her throwing hand is on the ball in preparation of the transfer. The players eye are now on the target. 

Throwing Position

The player plants her right foot to a position that allows her to get her left hip, elbow, and shoulder facing her target. She transfers the ball past her ear and outside her back shoulder. She remains in an athletic balanced position with weight on the inside and on the balls of the feet.
